Tabeguache Peak & Mt. Shavano - 14,155' & 14,229' October 1, 2011 We ended our 2011 hiking season with a hike up Tab & Shav. We chose a route that isn't very common and hardly saw anyone the entire day! The hike seemed longer than it was due to the lack of trail, but it was an adventure that we won't forget anytime soon. Castle & Conundrum Peaks - 14,265' and 14,060' September 24, 2011 We hiked our first set of Elk Mountains during a prime fall color weekend. The weather was beautiful and the views were outstanding! Castle & Conundrum were a great introduction to the Elks and we're starting to get amped up for the tougher ones to come. Click here to see more photos

Missouri Mountain - 14,067' September 4, 2011 The last day of our hiking weekend was a fun day doing a loop including Missouri Mountain, Iowa Peak and Emerald Peak. We hardly saw anyone the entire day and had beautiful weather the entire time! The hike up was short and steep, but the hike out was longer and easier on the knees! Click here to see more photos

Mt. Belford & Mt. Oxford - 14,197' and 14,153' September 2, 2011 Day two of our long hiking weekend was the longest day with over 6,000 ft of total elevation gain, but it was a fun hike with great views! We had another great weather day and completed two more 14ers! Click here to see more photos

Huron Peak - 14,003' September 1, 2011 As a start to a long weekend of hiking, we took all 3 dogs up Huron Peak. It is one of the easier peaks and it has great views! The weather was great and we all had a fun day in the mountains. Click here to see more photos

Antero Peak & Cronin Peak - 14,269' and 13,870' July 30, 2011 Antero Peak was one of the 14ers that wasn't on the top of our list. There is a 4x4 road that goes all the way to 13,800' so it never seemed like it would be that exciting of a hike. We decided to give it a go and started hiking really early and were at the summit just after sunrise. To make the day more fun, we hiked over to Cronin Peak which ended up being the highlight of the day. Click here to see more photos

Mt. Bierstadt, The Sawtooth, Mt. Evans September 20, 2010 It's getting later in the year, so Travis and I decided to get out for at least one more big hike before the snow comes. We chose the Bierstadt->Sawtooth->Evans route which includes some fun class 3 scrambling. Click here to see more photos

Torreys Peak, Grays Peak & Mt. Edwards September 9, 2010 After a month of no hiking due to moving, we finally got back to the mountains to hike another pair of 14ers. We decided since it was past Labor Day, we'd try one of the closer hikes and hopefully avoid the summer crowds. We decided to hike Grays and Torreys and we threw in Mt. Mt. Lindsey - 14,042 ft July 18, 2010 I'm usually not a big birthday person, but this year I decided I wanted to go hiking on my birthday since it fell on a Sunday. We had already hiked San Luis Peak, so we were all up for another 14er. Since it was my birthday, what better way to spend it than hiking up a mountain with the same name?! Mt. Elbert - 14,433 ft September 20, 2009 We decided to hike Colorado and the Rocky Mountain's highest peak! It was a really enjoyable hike. We had a little snow and it was pretty brisk at the top, but we had a great time. The pups did great on the hike and added another 14er to their list. Click here to see more photos

Bangs & Billings Canyon - Grand Junction, CO Labor Day, 2009 After 2 days of flyball, we took the ATVs out to play! We hit the trails of Bangs canyon and had a blast. Schofield Pass - between Crested Butte & Marble August 28, 2009 We spent the weekend camping out by Crested Butte. Since the salmon weren't running, we went out for a hike. We drove the truck as far as we could on Schofield Pass road, then we pulled over and hiked up a hill! The hike was a mix of cross-country and animal trails. South Boulder Peak - Boulder, CO August 17, 2009 Since the dogs didn't get to play in the Muddy Buddy with us, we decided to go out for a hike on Monday after the race. In case we didn't get enough of a workout on Sun, we set our sights on South Boulder Peak! The hike climbs about 3000 ft in just over 3 miles. Click here to see more photos

Muddy Buddy - Boulder Reservoir, CO August 16, 2009 I decided to enter Travis and myself in the Muddy Buddy bike and run race in Boulder! It's a 6-7 mile course with 5 legs. The teammates alternate running & biking and at the end, you have to crawl through a mud pit! We had a great time and definitely played in the mud more than others. Click here to see more photos
